A New, Healthier Kenya!

The Kenyan healthcare system is currently one of the worst in the world.  Those hospitals that do exist are overcrowded, often placing 2 patients per bed. The need for nurses is undeniable.  

Bread and Water for Africa UK has the opportunity to invest in the Lewa Community Health Centre (plans pictured above), a facility that is not only urgently needed, but that has the possibility of making a huge difference in the lives of thousands of people in communities around Eldoret. The violence experienced in this region following the 2007 presidential elections forced many to flee, including medical workers.  The construction of a new, quality facility will not only encourage locals and medical personnel to move back to their homes, but it will provide a resource for stability in this region for years to come.

Projects like the Lewa Community Health Centre are vital in Kenya today in light of the incapacitation of the public sector.  They not only provide jobs for trained medical personnel and encourage prospective personnel to invest in training for the healthcare sector, but they also are able to offer patients quality care that is simply not possible in government-funded facilities.  Help us fund this life-changing project!  Donate now!
